 B.M.S. College of Engineering

●       About the college

Located in the heart of Bangalore, B.M.S. College of Engineering was established in 1946. It is the first engineering education initiative in the private sector in India. It has stood strong over the past 74 years and, as of present, offers 13 undergraduate as well as 16 postgraduate courses. It also has 14 departments that are recognised as research centres and offer M.Sc/PhD degrees. The Aerospace Engineering Department is the latest, which was formed in 2018. It focuses on teaching and research on autonomous systems, space systems, rotorcraft, and unmanned aerial vehicles. It has the latest laboratory equipment for research purposes.

●       Eligibility

The candidate must have passed 10+2 examinations with 45% marks (General category) or 40% marks (OBC/SC/ST) and must have PCM with English as a compulsory subject. For lateral entry, the candidate must have passed diploma or any other equivalent examination with 45% marks (General category) or 40% marks (OBC/SC/ST) in the final year.

●       Admission process

The candidate can apply for admission through government quota where marks/rank obtained in KEA/COMED-K exams are considered. For admissions through management quota, the candidate has to take any one of the entrance exams.

RV College of Engineering

●       About the college

Approved by AICTE, RV College of Engineering is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University and was established in 1963. It is aided by Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust (RSST), a non-profit trust. The college has an intake of 60 students in the Aerospace Department, which was introduced in 2015. Specialisation in areas such as aerodynamics, control systems, propulsion systems and structural designs have been the department’s main objective. The department is equipped with state-of-art laboratory equipment.

●       Eligibility

The candidates must fulfil the following criteria:

  • A minimum of 70% marks both in science and mathematics individually in the 10th examinations.
  • A minimum of 65% marks both in physics and mathematics individually in the 11th examinations.
  • A minimum of 60% marks both in physics and mathematics individually in the 12th examinations (if announced).
  • Should have appeared compulsorily appeared for either CET/COMED-K/JEE or any other national entrance test for professional programs.

This college is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University(VTU), Belagavi. It is AICTE-approved and is a unit of the RajaRajeswari Group of Institutions. It offers 7 undergraduate courses. The Aerospace Department, having an intake of 60 seats, was formed in 2017. The lower semesters’ curriculum mainly consists of aerodynamics fundamentals, propulsion systems, structures, and designs while the higher semesters consist of many advanced topics such as space dynamics, space environment, spacecraft design and analysis, missile design, etc.

The candidate must have passed the 10+2 examinations with PCM subjects and should have appeared for CET or COMED-K.

●       About the college

MVJ College of Engineering is an autonomous institute established in 1982 and is located in Whitefield, Bangalore. It was started as a flagship college of the Venkatesha Education Society. It offers 9 undergraduate and 6 postgraduate programs. It also has 5 departments, which are organised by VTU as research centres. With a 15-acre campus built for progressive learning and development, MVJ College of Engineering guides more than 4500 students each year. Moreover, they attend special labs that teach them design modelling and analysis, along with simulation processes.

The candidate must have cleared the KCET and should have passed the 10+2 or equivalent exam with 45% aggregate marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC) in physics and mathematics with English as a compulsory subject. Clearance of any one of the exams among KCET, AIEEE, COMED-K is a must. For management quota, the eligibility is 60%.
